Individuals with disabilities can face many digital barriers. Identifying and eliminating these barriers wherever possible strengthens our community and enriches our teaching, learning, and research.

The LTS team is here to help you with this important work. Our course series, Digital Accessibility in UVACanvas, is a great place to start as you review your content in preparation for the federal and state requirements for digital accessibility that will take effect in April 2027. The Digital Accessibility in UVACanvas course is divided into three parts:

• Part 1: An introduction to accessibility that covers the use of textual content, including page titles, headings, and paragraph breaks.
• Part 2: A course on formatting lists and tables to make information easier to read and understand.
• Part 3: A course to guide you through the process of choosing and adding accessible media content, including image, video, and audio files.
