Find Out If Your Course Sites May Be In UVACanvas

Our move to UVACanvas will take place over multiple semesters, with the first schools using UVACanvas in Spring 2023.

During the spring semester, you will likely use more than one learning system to access your various course sites, such as UVACanvas or UVACollab. This is temporary. By the Summer 2023 term, most all your courses will be using the same system, UVACanvas.

Spring 2023 Semester

These schools and departments may use UVACanvas for the Spring 2023 semester:

  • College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences: Art, Chemistry, Economics, Engagements, French, Mathematics, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, and Statistics.
  • School of Data Science
  • School of Education and Human Development
(Transitioning from EHD Canvas to central UVACanvas)
  • School of Continuing & Professional Studies
(Transitioning from SCPS Canvas to central UVACanvas)
  • Frank Batten School of Leadership & Public Policy

Please note: If you log in to UVACanvas and do not see a course site that you are expecting to see, don't worry. Some instructors may not choose to use an accompanying online course site to share class materials. Some instructors may plan to use an online course site, may not have published it yet. Courses taught outside of the above schools and areas may still use another system, like UVACollab. Your instructor will let you know how to find any online course materials associated with your course.

Summer - Fall 2023 Semesters

  • Summer 2023: All summer courses will use UVACanvas, except those at UVA's College at Wise.
  • Fall 2023: All fall courses will use UVACanvas.

Note: School of Law and Darden School of Business will remain on their current systems and will not use UVACanvas.
